Bodega Nodus
In 1985, Adolfo de las Heras Marín purchased the El Renegado estate. It then consisted of 540 hectares of old (40 yrs.) Bobal grape vines. El Renegado is one of the best areas in the D.O. Utiel-Requena. The vineyards are 600 to 900 meters above sea level, creating an ideal environment for viticulture. Adolfo De Las Heras Marín was a pioneer in introducing other grapes such as Merlot and Cabernet. His son Adolfo de las Heras Polo radically changed production in the late 1990s by planting additional varieties such as Syrah, Cabernet Franc and Chardonnay.
In 2005 the first wine of these newly planted varieties was born and NODUS (www.bodegasnodus.es) is now one of the most important wines of the D.O. Today, the cellar contains nearly a
thousand barrels of which 80% is made from French oak. The Bodega has now been fully ecologically certified since 2018.
