Bodega Ramirez de la Piscina
In 1945, Julio Ramirez de la Piscina continued to cultivate the family vineyards in de Sonsierra and produce the traditional Rioja Wines. Ramirez de la Piscina (www.ramirezdelapiscina.com) is an old aristocratic family name linked to the Church of Santa Maria de la Piscina (12th century). Julio moved to Bilbao with his wife Angela and started marketing his Rioja wines. Bodegas Ramirez was found and started selling bottled wine of their own. In 1980 his three children took over the business from Julio. In 1990 the winery started exporting and so the this ‘New Winery’ was born! Now they enjoy the most modern facilities and latest techniques during their working process. The unique location and sustainable cultivation of the vineyards, the manual harvest, the sorting process and the aging in oak barrels give all their wines exceptional quality and love.
