• Taste profile: The well-known Chardonnay, as the name suggests, is made from 100% Chardonnay grapes. It is aged in French oak for a remarkable 11 months. This imparts a robust and full-bodied character to Bernardus wine, with notes of butter, caramel, and yet that subtle freshness that makes this white Bernardus wine so special.
• Vinification: All Chardonnay grapes from Bernardus are handpicked by workers at the American vineyards, then selected and pressed. 90% of the Chardonnay is fermented in French oak barrels, 33% of which are new oak. The remaining 10% is fermented in stainless steel tanks.
